The following are some examples of the securities litigation recently handled by our lawyers:

Securities Fraud.Jack Grynberg, et al. v. Fusion Telecommunications International, Inc., et al., District Court, City and County of Denver, Colorado. Ross Pulkrabek defended a telecommunications company against claims of fraud and theft brought by a sophisticated investor and his family. Mr. Pulkrabek obtained both a dismissal of the claims against the company and an award of the company's attorneys' fees and costs against the investor. The dismissal and award of fees were upheld on appeal.

Securities Fraud - Legal Malpractice.Hilary Bass, as Receiver of Friendly Power Company, et. al. v. Daniel Schendziolos, et al., District Court, City and County of Denver, Colorado. Michael Mihm represented the SEC receiver of an electric power company engaged in selling electricity in California's deregulated market. Mr. Mihm prosecuted a legal malpractice/securities fraud lawsuit against the lawyers and law firms who authored legal opinions stating that partnership interests were not securities. We settled with most of the defendants for a substantial amount before trial. After a three-week jury trial, the jury found in favor of the one remaining defendant lawyer.
